Rosaviatsiya: It’s too early to talk about Egypt’s opening

Despite the efforts of the Egyptian side, Rosaviatsia considers it premature to open air traffic with the republic. This was stated by the head of the department Alexander Neradko.

"Work continues to prepare for the opening of these flights. October 31 was the second anniversary since the tragic loss of the Koglymavia flight. Our Egyptian colleagues are making great efforts to increase aviation security at Egyptian airports. We are monitoring the situation, but it is premature to talk about opening flights at this time," he told journalists, TASS reports.

Let us recall that recently, after an attack by a group of militants on a joint column of Egyptian security forces on the Cairo-Al-Wahat Al-Bakharia highway in the Giza Governorate, where the famous pyramids are located, the Russian Foreign Ministry made another statement in which it reported the activation of terrorist organizations on Egyptian territory.

Against this background, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Franz Klintsevich also made another disappointing statement: "In my opinion, there can be no talk of repealing this decision in the foreseeable future. We, of course, understand that suspending flights to Egypt does not improve relations between our countries, but the safety of Russian citizens is above all else."
