Three instead of one: how entry rules to Cuba will change

Russians will be able to stay in Cuba without a visa for up to 90 days. The draft agreement on visa-free travel has already been approved by the Russian government. This was reported by the official Internet portal of legal information.

Agreement between Russia and Cuba implies new conditions for refusal from visa formalities. The document states that Russians will be able to stay in the country without a visa for up to three months within 180 days from the moment of first entry. Anyone who intends to stay on the island of Freedom longer will be forced to obtain a visa.

The current visa-free agreement allows our citizens to stay in Cuba without a visa for up to 30 days. The new visa-free rules will finally come into force after some necessary domestic procedures have been completed. This will happen no earlier than the end of May 2018.

Last year, 75,000 Russians visited Cuba. The best time to travel to this island state in the Caribbean is from April to May. At this time, tourists can expect warm weather, minimal rainfall, and a sea warmed up to +26°C. Popular Cuban resorts are Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Santa Maria. The cost of a tour in April to Varadero starts from 124,474 rubles for two for 10 nights in a 4-star hotel.
