Azimuth Airlines has opened ticket sales on the route from Rostov-on-Don to Volgograd. Tickets are available from 888 rubles, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.
Flights will open on September 6 and will operate twice a week – on Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Rostov at 20:30, arrival in Volgograd at 21:40. Return departure at 22:40, arrival in Rostov at 23:50. Tickets are currently on sale for dates until the end of the summer schedule on October 27. Azimuth will use a Superjet 100 aircraft with 100 or 103 seats.
Azimuth has flown this route several times during the World Cup, but the schedule was hardly successful – for example, one of the flights arrived in Volgograd less than two hours before the start of the next match. There are also questions about this schedule – evening flights can be convenient for business trips, but Thursday and Saturday can hardly be called peak days for such trips.
The price of non-refundable tickets at the baggage-free rate is 888 rubles at the time of opening of sales. A ticket with baggage included now costs 1780 rubles. Both of these options do not allow you to return the ticket. A ticket that can be returned costs 2180 rubles, and a ticket in the "Comfort" class - 10080 rubles. The latter is a kind of substitute for business class - passengers are located in the first two or three rows with increased space in front of them, receive a double baggage allowance, but do not have access to the business lounge.
Baggage rates allow for one bag of 23 kilograms, while Comfort allows for two such bags. However, all passengers can carry 10 kilograms of hand luggage, plus a briefcase or handbag and a number of other personal items. Adding baggage to a baggage-free rate costs 2,000 rubles. Non-refundable tickets can be changed for a fee of 1,000 rubles and a possible surcharge up to the current rate if it is more expensive than the original – but for tickets priced at 888 rubles, such an exchange does not make sense.
Meals in economy class are paid. Passengers will be offered only sparkling and still water for free. Online check-in is only available for those who wish to pay 200 rubles or more for choosing a seat.
When purchasing on the website of the airline, Azimuth now includes paid meals (a sandwich for 250 rubles) and paid insurance (also 250 rubles) in the ticket by default. This practice of selling services not requested by the client, which is prohibited in the European Union and a number of other countries, is still widespread in Russia. To refuse unnecessary services, you should click on the “In order” buttons on the additional services selection page.
Let us recall that soon passengers of all Russian airlines may lose the guarantees of free transportation of briefcases, handbags, backpacks, outerwear, as well as baby food, medicine, canes, crutches and other items necessary for medical reasons. This is the draft order of the Ministry of Transport, prepared after the appeal to the ministry by the airline Pobeda, which demanded that passengers be deprived of all these guarantees. If the draft is approved, carriers will be able to limit passengers to only 5 kilograms of hand luggage, and the permissible dimensions of such luggage will be determined by the airlines themselves (Pobeda itself already uses a tiny “calibrator” measuring 36x30x27 centimeters for this, in which it is impossible to place many ordinary small city bags, as well as some mobile electronics - for example, some laptops).
