Aeroflot Airlines has deployed its most modern and comfortable aircraft, the Airbus A350, on the Moscow-Sochi route. Initially, it was supposed to be used on international routes, but due to their unavailability, the liner currently serves domestic resort destinations, reports Travel.ru's own correspondent.
The Airbus A350 has already made several flights to Sochi during peak days in June, and since July 1 it has been deployed on this route daily. It typically serves departures from Moscow (Sheremetyevo Airport) at 10:25 and return departures from Sochi at 14:35.
However, the schedule may change on peak days. In particular, on the coming Friday and Sunday, July 3 and 5, there will be two flights on the Airbus A350: at 9:05 and 18:00 from Moscow and at 13:10 and 22:00 from Sochi. Those who want to get on the Airbus A350 on other Fridays and Sundays should keep in mind that the plane's schedule may also change from a late morning departure from Moscow to a morning and evening one.
In total, Aeroflot currently operates 8 flights a day to Sochi instead of the 12 planned before the epidemic. The Airbus A350 has not yet been scheduled for August, but its operation on the Sochi route may well continue if international flights do not open.
The Airbus A350-900 was ordered by Aeroflot in a three-class configuration with 316 seats. Of these, 28 are in business class (7 rows of 4 horizontally reclining seats with direct access to the aisle for each passenger), 24 in premium economy class (3 rows of 8 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration) and 264 seats in regular economy class (3-3-3 configuration). In total, Aeroflot was supposed to receive at least 14 Airbus A350 aircraft, but the delivery of the second and subsequent aircraft of this type was delayed due to the coronavirus epidemic. They will replace the Airbus A330 as the latter are withdrawn from the fleet.
Passengers and tourists planning to travel anywhere in the coming months should weigh the necessity and the possibility of traveling many times. For most airlines, there is still a fairly high risk of any flights being cancelled at the last minute due to low occupancy or decisions by some authorities. In addition, in some regions of Russia, quarantines are still in effect for tourists entering there, turning travel into fiction. Before any trip, you should double-check the rules in force at your destination - they can change at any time without any prior notice. In addition to quarantines, the rules in various regions may now include requirements for wearing masks, having local passes, negative coronavirus tests, etc. Finally, the risk of contracting the virus increases significantly during the trip.
