The state company Avtodor, which manages toll roads, announced the introduction of another toll section on the M-4 highway, which connects the center of the country with the Black Sea resorts and other southern regions. This section is located between Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar. In total, travel along the entire route from Moscow to the sea (this is actually the only road from the center of Russia towards Sochi, Gelendzhik, Anapa and Crimea) will become approximately 250 rubles more expensive than a year earlier, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.
The new toll section (1195-1319 km) is located between the village of Pavlovskaya and the Krasnodar bypass. It will be operational from April 29. The toll collection point is located at the 1223 kilometer between Pavlovskaya and Korenovsk (motorists who do not pass this point do not have to pay). The fare for cars is 200 rubles during the day and 120 at night. When using a transponder, the amount is reduced by 20%.
The price of travel on the old toll sections was also indexed by the beginning of the summer season. At the same time, for some unknown reason, Avtodor removed information about the tariffs on each of the toll sections from its website. According to the company's press release, the total price for all sections has already reached 1,380 rubles (for travel on each of them during the daytime).
In total, at least 690 kilometers, and possibly about 700-800 kilometers of the M-4 highway have a toll regime (it is difficult to obtain exact data on the Avtodor website, where various pages contradict each other). This is already about half of the total length of the road from Moscow to the sea at Dzhubga (1,420 kilometers). The entire section in the Moscow region, almost all sections in the Tula and Lipetsk regions, most of the highway in the Voronezh region and Krasnodar region are toll. The only large free section remains from the south of the Voronezh region to Rostov-on-Don, another smaller one is south of Krasnodar.
Avtodor intends to continue to convert the M-4 highway to a toll regime as the remaining sections of the road are reconstructed. Once this process is completed, the price of travel along the entire highway will probably be comparable to the cost of an air ticket from Moscow to Sochi or Krasnodar.
Some of the toll sections on the M-4 are relatively easy to bypass with almost no increase in distance or travel time. In particular, these are the first 300 kilometers from Moscow (bypassed via Tula) and the section from Rostov to Krasnodar (bypassed via Azov - Starominskaya - Timashevsk).
