Azimuth Airlines intends to increase the number of flights on the Rostov-on-Don – Moscow route when the summer schedule begins on March 29. In addition, the carrier has halved the carry-on baggage allowance for most fares, Travel.ru’s own correspondent reports.
Instead of the current 8 flights a week on the Rostov-Moscow route, Azimuth is going to make 12, and from the end of May – 13. Currently, there is a morning daily flight from Rostov, as well as an evening flight on Fridays. From March 29, evening flights will be added to other days of the week, except Tuesday and Saturday. Saturday evening flight will appear from May 30.
As is known, with the start of the summer schedule, Pobeda is going to leave the Moscow-Rostov route, and Aeroflot has announced a smaller number of flights for now. In addition, Nordavia (Smartavia) has not yet sold any flights for the summer, Utair recently cut the number of flights to one per day, and Nordwind Airlines has left the route. At the same time, Sibir (S7 Airlines) is going to increase the frequency of flights in the summer schedule to 4 per day.
From March 29, Azimuth departs from Rostov at 7.35 and (except Tuesday) 19.05, arriving in Moscow (Vnukovo Airport) at 9.25 and 20.55 respectively. Return departures at 16.30 and (except Tuesday) 21.45, arriving in Rostov at 18.20 and 23.35. Azimuth uses Superjet 100 aircraft.
The minimum price of a ticket at a baggage-free rate is 3,150 rubles, at a baggage-free rate – 3,650. It should be noted that for flights from March 29, Azimuth has reduced the carry-on baggage allowance from 10 to 5 kilograms for all economy class fares (previously, this allowance was only applied to some baggage-free fares). This applies to all of the company's flight routes.
Adding an additional 5 kilograms of hand luggage costs 399 rubles per flight. It is worth keeping in mind that when purchasing on the company's website, "Azimut" includes this option in the order by default (as well as insurance for 290 rubles and meals for 299 rubles). To refuse unnecessary services, you should remove them on the additional services selection page before paying for the ticket.
In addition to the standard carry-on baggage, passengers have the right to take a briefcase or a handbag (without size or weight restrictions) or a backpack weighing no more than 5 kilograms and measuring no more than 10x30x40 (it is not known where in Azimuth they could have seen such a thin backpack, except for preschoolers) or a laptop or tablet of the same dimensions into the aircraft cabin free of charge. A sealed bag with purchases from Duty Free stores, outerwear, a suit in a garment bag, a bouquet of flowers, baby food, baby strollers and cradles, and items necessary for medical reasons are also carried free of charge.
