Numerous graffiti will become new landmarks of the Spanish capital. As part of the Madrid City Hall project, residents of the city's Moratalaz, Carabanchel, Moncloa-Aravaca, Tetuán, Puente de Vallecas and Villa de Vallecas neighbourhoods took part in choosing the graffiti that will soon appear on the walls of buildings, stadiums and fences.
The artists commissioned to make the drawings are themselves from these areas of Madrid, Noticia.ru reports. The project aims to “use art as a tool for developing the individuality of the areas.”
Graffiti has become an integral part of modern cities. Despite the fact that most of the drawings on the walls of buildings are illegal, many of these works are the most photographed by walking tourists.
