The authorities of the Spanish island of Mallorca have decided to increase fines for tourists who disturb public order and the peace of local residents by 2-4 times.
In the resort town of Magaluf, a list of the most common violations with the amount of fines that will be paid by reveling tourists has been compiled. In particular, if a vacationer decides to appear naked or half-naked in a public place or relieve himself on the street, he will be fined 400 euros. A fine of 200 to 500 euros also awaits participants in noisy street parties with alcohol. For throwing a bottle on the road - 500 euros, for showing disrespect to a police officer - 400 euros, for throwing cigarette butts, papers, chewing gum past the bin - 200 euros, for taking alcohol outside the establishments in any container - 200 euros, for graffiti - 100 euros.
According to the British publication The Sun, if the fine is paid within ten days, the offender is given a 50 percent discount. It is drunk tourists from Great Britain who most often come to the attention of the police in Mallorca.
In addition, the Magaluf authorities have asked the Balearic Islands government to ban free alcohol in all-inclusive hotels, and to abolish happy hours in establishments and offers such as “two cocktails for the price of one”.
