A new type of cruise liner was launched in Nizhny Novgorod

On September 11, in Nizhny Novgorod, the Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard launched a PV300VD cruise liner, which will be the first vessel of this type.

The new ship will carry passengers on long-distance cruise routes: Moscow-Astrakhan, Moscow- St. Petersburg with passages along Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega, Moscow - Rostov-on-Don with passage through the Volga-Don Shipping Canal.

After the launch of the vessel, the President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexey Rakhmanov noted that the vessel would be ready for the start of the 2020 navigation season, as planned.

"This is quite a serious investment, which would not have been possible without state support, because without a contribution to the authorized capital of USC with the subsequent transfer of the vessel to our captive leasing company, such a project would not have been profitable for our shipping companies. Therefore, we are glad that this program, which we hope will continue to develop, will allow us to build not just one such vessel, but a whole series of vessels," he said, Interfax reports.

According to the general director of the company "Vodohod" Rishat Bagautdinov, a program has already been developed for this ship and tied to cultural events.

"We have already developed a rich program for this ship. We have tied it to cultural events that will take place at the destinations. Another feature of our ship is that, due to its design solutions, it can pass along the Neva under raised bridges, so we think that it will stop somewhere in the center of St. Petersburg. We are currently working on this and do not see any obstacles yet," he noted.
