As reported by Ahram Online, 11 terrorists were killed today, September 10, in a shootout with Egyptian security forces in the northern Sinai city of Arish in Egypt.
The militants were eliminated as part of the comprehensive state operation "Sinai-2018" - a campaign counter-terrorism force, which includes the Egyptian army, navy, air force and police.
In particular, two of the most dangerous terrorists were killed in a shootout with security forces, the country's Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The National Security Department received information that a group of terrorist elements is using an abandoned gas station in the Gusr al-Wadi area near the Al-Arish police station as their hideout.
The sector was also informed that the group was preparing to carry out a series of terrorist operations against government structures.
During the raid, security forces found five automatic rifles and two explosive devices.
The operation was launched in February to eliminate terrorist and criminal elements and organizations in northern and central Sinai, the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.
