To make your plans come true and have time to see the main attractions of the Tyumen region, you need to cheat a little and extend your weekend by just one day.
I arrived in Tyumen on Friday morning, rented a car, and spent the rest of the day walking around Tyumen. First of all, I went to see the famous embankment of the Tura River.
The uniqueness of this project is that the Tura embankment in Tyumen has become the only four-level embankment in Russia:
Very close by, on the hill of the right bank of the Tura River, is the Holy Trinity Monastery, founded in 1616 and one of the oldest architectural ensembles in Siberia:
The city has preserved many wooden houses from the 19th century with unique carved window frames:
The beautiful Spasskaya Church is one of the oldest and most expressive churches in Tyumen:
An unusual bathhouse building in the constructivist style on Lenin Street:
Business center "Gazoyl Plaza":
The stele on the Memory Square is made in the form of a candle and symbolizes grief for the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War:
Night view of the Tyumen region administration building:
The House of Soviets, now the building of the Tyumen Regional Duma:
The next day, early in the morning, I leave for Tobolsk. It is only 250 kilometers away, on the way to the village of Pokrovskoye, where the house-museum of Grigory Rasputin is located:
Unfortunately, it was early and we couldn't get inside.
