217 hotels in Crimea have been classified into stars. This was reported by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko.
“217 accommodation facilities with a total capacity of over 17,000 rooms have already been classified, including by category: “5 stars” – 8 objects; “4 stars” — 38 objects; “3 stars” — 85 objects; “2 stars” — 37 objects; “1 star” — 6 objects; “no stars” — 43 objects,” said Vadim Volchenko, RIA Novosti reports.
He also noted that all explanations about the procedure for mandatory classification of hotels will be given at the Open Crimea forum, which will open in Simferopol on April 5 and last 2 days.
“As of July 1, administrative liability will be imposed in Crimea for operating without a certificate of assignment of a hotel category for facilities with more than 50 rooms, and as of January 1, 2020, for facilities with 15 to 50 rooms,” the minister added.
Let us recall that the law on mandatory classification of hotels in Russia was adopted in February last year. According to the document, from July 1, 2019, classification was to become mandatory for those hotels with more than 50 rooms, from January 1, 2020 - for hotels with more than 15 rooms, and from January 1, 2021 - for all other hotels.
We will also add that from January 1, 2020, hotels will be prohibited from providing services without a certificate of assignment of a certain category; violation of this law will entail administrative liability for hotels with more than 50 rooms, and violators will be fined from 30 to 50 thousand rubles if false information about the classification of a particular hotel is used in advertising.
In addition, it was previously reported that the Ministry of Economic Development opened a hotline for hoteliers, where they can ask questions about the classification of hotels.
