On June 23, a colorful kite festival will be held on the territory of the Ataman ethnographic complex, located on the Taman Peninsula in the Krasnodar Territory. At 11:00 a variety of kites will take to the skies, and two hours later a competition will begin, during which winners in several nominations will be determined.
The festival will include master classes on making kites. Visitors to the festival will also enjoy Cossack songs, folk dances and a concert, RIA Novosti reports.
The Ataman ethnographic complex was recognized as the most popular ethnopark in Russia in 2017. It is a copy of a Cossack village in the open air. The complex has a permanent exhibition, workshops, exhibitions, festivals and holidays. There are also sports grounds and a children's entertainment area.
