French tour operators are suspending sales of tours to China amid the coronavirus epidemic in the Middle Kingdom, Le Figaro newspaper reported, citing the tour operators' union (SETO).
As noted in the SETO report, the restriction is being introduced almost for a month, until February 21.
Let us recall that last Friday, Rostourism reported the existence of circumstances indicating the emergence of a threat to the safety of tourists in the People's Republic of China, associated with the increased incidence of infection with the new coronavirus, recommending that tour operators suspend sales of tours to the Celestial Empire.
A little later, the companies announced that they were removing the destination from sales. At the same time, the tour operator Rus-Tour announced the evacuation of tourists from the resort island of Hainan. "In connection with the current situation in China, sales of tours to China have been temporarily suspended since January 25 until the epidemiological situation in the country is normalized, on the recommendation of Rostourism. In order to ensure the safety of Russian citizens, the management of the tour operator RUS-TOUR made an immediate decision to force the evacuation of tourists," the company's website said.
In turn, TEZ Tour decided to cancel the flights planned to the resort. "The removal of tourists on paid applications will be carried out in a planned mode according to the schedule of flights of the iFly airline from China to Russia and the planned dates of the tours.
"The tour operator TEZ TOUR is ready to provide all necessary assistance in connection with the current situation. For questions about cancellations and rebooking of tours to other destinations, please contact the agency where the tour was purchased or call the hotline: 8 800 700 78 78," the company emphasized.
