Spanish hotel offers room for amateur astronomers

The five-star Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous, located on the Spanish island of Mallorca and intended for adults only, has equipped a themed Stargazer Suite that will appeal to astronomy lovers. The spacious suite has sea views and a professional telescope in the room.

The staff of the Institute of Astronomy and Astronautics of Mallorca will tell guests how to use a telescope, how to find the main constellations in the sky, tell them about the basics of astrophysics and recommend books from the library, which is collected in the same room. In addition, the suite itself is decorated in a “star” spirit: the Milky Way made of Swarovski crystals on the ceiling, a carpet with a map of the constellations and other details.

As reported by “Spain in Russian”, in addition to the Stargazer Suite, the Iberostar Grand Hotel has four more themed rooms. The Naughty Suite has a round bed, a mirror on the ceiling, a chaise longue and a dance floor with a pole. In the Games Suite, guests will find a variety of games and entertainment, from a computer console to table football. The elegant Heritage Suite is designed for fans of high art, and the Spa Suite with its own sauna and the possibility of in-room massage will appeal to those who want to relax and unwind. Accommodation in the hotel’s themed suites will cost guests 650 euros per day.
