Research: Where Russians Would Go on Vacation If They Had an Unlimited Budget

If a person had the chance to manage an indecently huge amount of money, he would probably lose his head, because deep down everyone dreams of going to the most expensive resort, visiting famous cities or going on a round-the-world tour. To find out if this is true, Experts from the online travel service UFS.Travel conducted surveys on social networks and analyzed where Russians would go if they had an unlimited budget.

According to the results of the survey conducted on Instagram, the cultural capital of Russia, St. Petersburg, is in first place in popularity. 19% respondents would go there. Thus, the city attracts tourists with its beauty and unusual places. Another survey on the social networks UFS.travel also showed that the top most unusual tourist places in St. Petersburg included the Pyshechnaya confectionery, Cheburechnaya, the Chocolate Museum, Grand Maket and even the village of Lopukhinka with unique radon springs. The second place is shared between European countries. Thus, 6% would visit the birthplace of spaghetti and real pizza - Italy, and 5% would go to France or Spain. In third place are the Russian resorts - Crimea and Sochi. After the construction of the Crimean Bridge, traveling to the sunny coast became more accessible, easier and more comfortable, so 5% voters voted for it. The favorite resort on the Black Sea coast of Russia, Sochi (4%), received slightly fewer votes. In addition, Instagram users want to visit the USA, New Zealand, Japan, Bulgaria, Cuba and other unusual corners of the world, distributing the remaining percentages among them. The most original dreamer is going to travel through space.

Facebook users have slightly more diverse dreams. Thus, France with romantic Paris and enchanting Marseille (13%) came out on top in the survey. In addition, Russians would not mind taking a trip to Italy (7%). Surprisingly, the Caribbean and South American countries also turned out to be popular. About 22% voted for the Dominican Republic, Cuba, the Galapagos and even the Amazon jungle. Asia is also popular - 15% would choose Japan, China, Korea or Singapore for a trip with an endless budget. The remaining percentage was divided between such destinations as Tibet, Australia and others.

Users of the social network Vkontakte also expressed their preferences for a vacation with an unlimited budget. Thus, the largest number of voters would go on a trip to Europe. The most desired country was again Italy (14%), as well as France, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland. One of the most popular resorts in Europe, Greece, is still popular. 10% voters voted for it. Russians are not against going to the most unexplored places in Russia: the Far East, Kamchatka, Baikal and the Altai Territory attract 7% voters, and 6% respondents are ready for a long-haul flight to exotic Australia. San Remo, Qatar, Mecca, Finland, Budapest, Capri and several other places captured the remaining percentage of the vote.

The dreamers did not limit themselves to just listing cities, but decided to imagine the most exciting episodes of their imaginary vacation. Among the most interesting wishes: a flight on hot air balloons in Cappadocia, hugging a kangaroo, a view of the Mayan pyramids, seeing Cape Canaveral, watching the migration of northern whales near the shores of Iceland, conquering Elbrus, a night at the very edge of the earth on the Rybachy Peninsula under the northern lights, a trip to Wrangel Island on an icebreaker.

The most daring lovers of travel will go on a round-the-world trip, because why limit yourself to one country when your budget is unlimited?
