Majorca's Magaluf resort to restrict alcohol sales

The Spanish resort of Malaga on the Spanish island of Majorca plans to stop holding parties in bars and hotels with free alcohol for tourists in order to ensure the safety of guests and local residents, Interfax reports, citing the British portal Express.

“The resort’s hotels and bars are planning to ban celebrations and parties with unlimited free alcohol for tourists, because drunk travelers behave vulgarly, cause disturbances, and also risk being robbed themselves,” the publication writes.

Thus, two British tourists in a state of alcohol intoxication started a fire in one of the hotels, after which they were forced to pay 26 thousand pounds ($34.2 thousand) for damage. A similar story happened in one of the pubs, from where 90 Britons were kicked out for its destruction.

In addition, the ban on parties with free alcohol will reduce crime in the resort, since drunk tourists are the ones who become victims of robberies in Malaga.

According to the portal, another important innovation could be quality control of cheap alcoholic drinks, which often turn out to be counterfeit.

Malaga is a popular resort on the island of Majorca in Spain. It is famous for its nightlife, which attracts young tourists from all over the world.
