According to him, last year about 15.8 million guests visited the resorts of Kuban.
"Of course, we do not rule out the possibility that this year there will be some redistribution of demand, and economical types of vacation will be more in demand. After all, there has been some reduction in the real income of the country's population. And the resorts of Turkey have been reopened for Russian tourists," — the minister clarified.
According to preliminary results of the summer, 6.3 million vacationers visited the Azov-Black Sea coast of the region, which is 100 thousand more than in the same period last year. Moreover, the coast of Sochi, Anapa and Gelendzhik, as well as the Tuapse region, are popular with guests and residents of Kuban. By mid-August, the tourist flow to the resorts of this region increased by 4%, and since the beginning of the year, they have been visited by over 580 thousand tourists. Also, by 3%, compared to the same period last year, the tourist flow in the mountainous Apsheron region has grown. The reasons for such demand are in the changing structure of the tourist flow. Today, accommodation in tents and auto camping is gaining popularity.
Speaking about forecasts for the off-season, the number of tourists coming to the region from October to December has been steadily growing over the past three years. Last year, during the low season, the region received 2.6 million tourists, which is 400 thousand people more than in the same period in 2015.
“We plan that this year the tourist flow will be increased during this period due to the holding of many business and event events, as well as the launch of programs for interdepartmental cooperation,” the minister said.
He also reported that the peak demand for resort industry facilities in the off-season falls on the period of New Year and Christmas holidays. Last year alone, the region's resorts received more than 465 thousand people during this period. It is expected that during the New Year holidays of 2018, the resort areas and foothill areas of the region will be visited by no fewer vacationers. There will be interesting offers - New Year tours with accommodation, meals and an entertainment program.
