For the upcoming February and March holidays, the flow of Russian independent tourists abroad has increased compared to last year, according to data from the online service for travelers Biletix. The share of sales of air tickets abroad in the period from February 21 to 25 over the year it grew from 31% to 37%, and in the period from March 6 to 10 – from 33% to 35%.
However, the most popular tourist destinations for the February and March holidays vary. The top 5 most popular foreign destinations for this period in February include Yerevan, Chisinau, Minsk, Prague and Tbilisi. For the March holidays - Prague, Istanbul, Bali (Denpasar), Tel Aviv and Barcelona.
There are almost no changes among the most popular domestic destinations: in February, the largest number of tourists plan to vacation in Moscow, Sochi, Mineralnye Vody, Simferopol and Krasnodar. In March - in Moscow, Sochi, Simferopol, Kaliningrad and Mineralnye Vody.
The cost of air tickets for the upcoming holidays has increased. The average bill for round-trip air tickets for the February holidays on domestic routes increased from 6,183 to 7,030 rubles (+13%), abroad — from 14,439 to 15,407 rubles (+7%). For the March holidays — within Russia from 5,986 to 7,321 rubles (+22%), abroad — from 15,974 to 19,834 rubles (+24%).
