Paid check-in for Pobeda flights abroad is an illegal requirement

The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office (MMTP) has filed a lawsuit against Pobeda Airlines over the introduction of a fee for registration at foreign airports. This was reported by MMTP Senior Assistant Ekaterina Korotkova.

"Moscow "The prosecutor's office for supervision of compliance with laws on air and water transport, during inspections based on messages on the Internet, as well as on citizens' appeals, revealed illegal demands of the airline "Pobeda" to passengers. Thus, in the rules for the carriage of passengers and baggage, posted on the official website of the airline, a fee of 25 euros is established for passengers for registration on flights at airports of foreign countries," noted Ekaterina Krotkova.

In addition, she believes that in order to eliminate the violations, the prosecutor's office filed a claim with the Shcherbinsky District Court to recognize the carrier's requirement as illegal and to impose an obligation to exclude it from the airline's rules, reports the Moscow City News Agency.

Let us recall that from October 28, the low-cost airline Pobeda introduced paid check-in at foreign airports. For the airline, this was a forced step in order not to increase the cost of tickets. The low-cost airline approached the Ministry of Transport with a proposal to introduce a fee for check-in at airports.
