Ethiopian Airlines to Remove Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Moscow

Ethiopian Airlines continues to entertain the public as it continues to open its Addis Ababa to Moscow flights. The carrier has made its sixth change to the schedule of flights that were just launched on December 17. This time, Ethiopian Airlines changed the type of aircraft from Boeing 787 Dreamliner to the much less spacious and less comfortable Boeing 737 MAX 8, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is now listed for the vast majority of flights, including all departures from mid-January to the end of March (tickets for later months are not yet available). In fact, in addition to the initial flight, only some New Year's departures will be carried out on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

This is at least the seventh version of flights on this route. First, the carrier reduced the planned frequency of flights: instead of the originally planned 4 times a week, only 3 remained in the schedule. Then, instead of November 15, the opening of the line was moved to December 5. A little over a month ago, the arrival airport in Moscow changed (Domodedovo instead of Sheremetyevo), and the departure and arrival times shifted by 1-2 hours. A week ago, the stopover in Istanbul disappeared, and the arrival and departure times in Moscow changed again. Then the launch date of flights was moved again - to December 17 (from Moscow - December 18). Now the type of aircraft has been changed. At the same time, as passengers who bought tickets claim on social networks, no one notifies them of all these fluctuations.

The flight schedule has not changed: departure from Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 23:45, arrival in Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) at 7:15. Return departure on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 22:55, arrival in Addis Ababa at 6:25. Travel time is seven and a half hours. The minimum fare is from 37,160 rubles roundtrip.

Russian citizens have the opportunity to obtain a visa to Ethiopia upon arrival. In addition, from June 1, Ethiopia introduced the possibility of obtaining an online visa in advance for citizens of all countries (this is more expensive than at the airport).
