On May 12-13, the traditional Smelt Festival will be held in St. Petersburg, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru. This event annually attracts thousands of city residents and tourists who celebrate the small fish that has become one of the symbols of St. Petersburg.
The festival venue will traditionally be the Lenexpo exhibition complex. The program of the event includes a fishing competition, the release of salmon fry into the Gulf of Finland, games, competitions, quizzes, concerts, exhibitions, master classes, sports competitions and, of course, many different fish dishes.
During the holiday, a fish market and a souvenir fair will be open at Lenexpo. In addition, all those present will be treated to “General’s fish soup”.
The Smelt Festival is a family event. For the youngest guests, a children's area will be organized with its own entertainment and master classes. Tickets for the festival cost 300 rubles.
