The number of tourists from Africa increased by 20.9%, while the growth in the US and Oceania markets was 13.8% and 12.1% respectively.
The authorities of Vietnam's largest city also presented advanced statistics at the end of last week.
Thus, in the first six months of 2018, Ho Chi Minh City received more than 3.8 million international visitors, up 26.5 percent from the same period last year and 51 percent of this year's target.
The city's tourism sector earned VND62.6 billion (US$2.7 billion), up 15.7 percent from a year earlier and accounting for 45 percent of this year's target.
