European budget airline Wizzair intends to open flights from Budapest to Kazan in the fall. They will be operated twice a week from October 30 on Wednesdays and Sundays, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.
Departure from Budapest at 17:15, arrival in Kazan at 22:40. Return departure at 23:15, arrival in Budapest at 0:40. The route will be operated by an Airbus A320.
The minimum one-way fare, available on select flights for a limited time, is €30. Fares for most other flights start at €50. This price includes only a small carry-on bag no larger than 40 x 30 x 20 centimeters. Other carry-on baggage, checked baggage, seat selection, in-flight meals, and airport check-in instead of online are paid services.
All of these services can be purchased as a package (Go fare) for 38 euros (46 euros during peak periods) in addition to the basic ticket price. Individually, these services currently cost as follows: large carry-on baggage (55 x 40 x 23 centimeters, up to 10 kilograms) plus priority boarding - 10 euros, 10 kilograms of checked baggage - 17 euros, 20 kilograms - 25 euros, check-in at the airport - 30 euros (online - free). It is worth keeping in mind that adding baggage to an existing booking costs more, and at the airport even more. In addition, the cost of checked baggage doubles during high seasons (holiday periods or summer).
Passengers who plan to fly Wizzair several times a year or in pairs may want to consider purchasing a €29 Wizz Discount Club membership in advance, where annual membership typically gives a €10 discount on each ticket price, including one travel companion, as well as a €5 discount on baggage.
Until now, Wizzair has only flown to Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia – from Budapest and Debrecen. Let us recall that Wizzair is also considering the possibility of flying to Moscow from St. Petersburg from London. However, it is unknown whether the Russian authorities have already given their approval for such flights.
