Since the beginning of the year, 155.6 Russian tourists have arrived in Georgia from January to February. This figure has grown by 10%, compared to the data for the same period in 2018. This was reported by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia.
As reported by Interfax, the number of Russians who arrived in Georgia in February increased by 14.7% (- up to 69.7 thousand people), or 14.8% of all visitors, the number of which in February was 469.5 thousand people. The number of tourists who stayed in the republic for more than 24 hours was 247.7 thousand.
In addition, 988.2 thousand foreign guests (+12.8%) visited Georgia during the two winter months. 533.6 thousand people (+50.1%) visited the republic as tourists, and the rest were guests who spent time in Georgia in transit.
The National Tourism Administration of Georgia notes that in terms of the number of tourists from the Russian Federation to the republic, Russia has moved to 2nd position, and the first line is occupied by Azerbaijan (175.8 thousand tourists). The top five in terms of tourist flow to Georgia also include Armenia (148.1 thousand people), Turkey (125.9 thousand people), and Ukraine (20.6 thousand people).
