Riding a bicycle in the Samara region, I often came across old churches of the old Tsarist Russia in small villages, some already destroyed, some half-destroyed, some restored. The bicycle is valuable because in one day you can easily go to the very edge of the region and come back, and in two days - a weekend and even more so. This post is the quintessence of my bicycle trips in the Samara region over the past 2 years.
Kuroedovskaya Church. Situated practically on the border of Samara and Orenburg regions near the village of Arkhat, Pokhvistnevsky district. If you google it, you can even find a short video about this church. We came across it completely by accident during a bike trip through Buzuluk pine forest.
Perhaps the most famous half-ruined Orthodox church for Samara residents, which is located in the village of Osinovka in Samara Luka. According to the conclusion of some commission, this church cannot be restored,
Church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush" in the village of Nikolskoye, Bezenchuk district.
Let's return to Samara Luka. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Novinki. They restored it, but unfortunately they didn't finish the restoration.
Let's move to the south of the region to the Khvorostyansky district, to the village of Elan. The old Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin. I had a chance to get to know this place during the three-day cycling race "Cultural Monuments of the Samara Region".
The only wooden church of Tsarist Russia that I know of is the Church of Archangel Michael in Pavlovka, Sergievsky District. This year, we passed by once with friends when we were driving around the 240-kilometer circle with friends, but then there was no time for photos, but then my good friend went there specifically and made a pretty good report from that trip.
The same church. View from the inside. The wall frescoes are still visible. It is a miracle that this temple is still alive.
The Church of Our Lady of Kazan in the village of Kanuyevka, Bezenchuk District. Fortunately, this church has been restored in recent years and services are now held there regularly.
Pokrovskaya Church in the village of Elkhovka, Elkhovsky District.
Dergachi village, Krasnoarmeysky district. Church of Archangel Michael.
One of the most beautiful temples in the Samara region is the Church of the Archangel Michael in the village of Vilovatoye, Bogatovsky District. It has recently been completely restored.
Church of Cosmas and Damian in the village of Musorka, Stavropol region.
Let's return to Bezenchuk district. The village of Perepolovenka and the church in the name of Saint Princess Olga.
Let's move to the south of the region again, to the village of Abashevo in the Khvorostyansky district. Two years ago, the church "Faith, Hope, Love" was in a state of ruin, but by spring, services were already being held in this church.
Unfortunately I don't know the name of the church, Google and Yandex didn't help. The church is located in the village of Alekseyevka. Services are held only on holidays.
The remains of a wooden church in the village of Pokrovka, Borsky district.
Cosmo-Domianskaya in the village of Syezzhee, Bogatovsky district. As of summer 2014, it is being restored.
Unfortunately I don’t know the name of this church, if anyone knows, please tell me.
This is only a small part of what you can see in our region. But there are still very beautiful old estates, some abandoned, some not. Houses of merchants and other noble people of tsarist Russia. There is an ancient settlement of Belogorsk culture in Samara Luka. And much more.
And we also have a Department of Tourism in the Samara Region, which is not clear what it does. Why not create some kind of database of all the attractions of the Samara Region and launch, for example, a series of TV programs about them. Build tourist routes (pedestrian, bicycle, car) as is done in most European countries. IMHO, many would be interested. Weekend tours have recently become increasingly popular in our region.
