To ensure you fall asleep during a flight, Russian experts recommend using meditation and a blanket at home, RIA Novosti reports.

Domestic doctors and representatives of various travel services gave several useful tips that will help you sleep better during the flight. Medical experts, for example, suggest slightly reducing the duration of sleep the day before the flight. This will help you relax faster on the plane. Doctors also do not recommend drinking alcohol before and during the flight. Instead, buy a bottle of water at Duty Free. Psychotherapists advise those who are afraid of flying to use special relaxation and meditation techniques.

Experts from various travel services also give some life hacks. If you are flying on a plane together, try to reserve the outer seats in a row of three seats when checking in online. If the plane is not 100% full, the seat in the middle will remain free, which will give you extra space. If you are flying alone, book a seat by the window. This will also allow you to get more space and a wall to lean against for the same money. In addition, you will not be bothered by neighbors asking you to go to the toilet.

Experts also listed several items that are worth taking on the plane: a horseshoe pillow to support your head, a small pillow for the lower back, a sleep mask, earplugs or noise-canceling headphones, a player with relaxing music or nature sounds, lollipops or motion sickness medication. A warm blanket would also be a good idea on the plane. You shouldn't count on them giving you one on board. Firstly, their number is limited. Secondly, from a hygiene point of view, they are not always impeccable.
