Tables and chairs will be placed on the streets of Prague for tired tourists and locals, writes the portal Prague.TV.
For the third year in a row, the Prague Chair and Tables project is being implemented in Prague, within the framework of which tables and chairs will be placed throughout the city. According to the mayor of the Czech capital Adriana Krnacheva, in many parts of the city, the only place where people can sit down after a long walk is in a restaurant or cafe. The city authorities intend to solve this problem by equipping more than 60 places in Prague with tables and chairs. As the mayor noted, last season, city furniture was placed near the Emauza Monastery, the Botanical Garden and the National Gallery. This year, there will be more such rest areas.
As Prague.TV reports, if tables and chairs are not chained, people are free to move them into the shade or arrange them in a circle to sit in a group.
Local authorities are inviting civic associations, private organisations and cultural institutions to join the project in order to increase the number of areas with free access to chairs and tables.
In 2018, recreation areas will be equipped at Senovažná and Malostranská squares, the National Theatre square, the city beach Klánovice, next to the architectural and historical complex Clementinum, in Klamovka Park, Old Town Square, the park on Charles Square, Jungmanovo Square and many others.
