Pattaya is changing its image dramatically. Now it will be…

Security measures have been stepped up in Pattaya, Thailand. Two large checkpoints have appeared in the city, with about a hundred police officers from various units on duty. This is reported by Thailand News.

The popular resort town of Pattaya will soon become is perhaps the safest resort in Thailand. Two checkpoints, according to local police lieutenant Nepatimakun, should ensure complete safety of tourists at the resort. The measures introduced by the authorities are also intended to increase the confidence of foreign tourists and local residents.

The points are located in two different parts of the city - near one of the markets and next to the Wat Jitpawan temple. Here, police officers carefully inspect cars and motorbikes for weapons, explosives, illegal drugs and equipment that pose a threat to people. As stated by the Pattaya police, the resort intends to put an end to any crime and make it a "city without criminals."

To keep visitors safe, the Thai government plans to install 376,000 CCTV cameras in public places across the country over the next two years. Parks, recreation areas, shopping malls and popular tourist attractions will be monitored.
