One of the largest German trade unions, ver.di, is holding another strike at airports on April 10. The airports most affected by the action are Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne and Bremen, and to a lesser extent Berlin and Dusseldorf. The strike led to the cancellation of a number of flights, including those to Russia, reports Travel.ru's own correspondent.
In particular, Aeroflot cancelled flights on April 10 from Moscow to Frankfurt at 8:00 and back at 11:25, to Munich at 19:40 and back at 23:20. Lufthansa cancelled flights from Munich to Moscow at 11:20 and back at 8:40, from Munich to St. Petersburg at 11:50 and back at 5:45, from Frankfurt to St. Petersburg at 13:00 and back at 18:00. Delays or cancellations of other flights are also possible.
Airlines are offering passengers on cancelled flights the option of using the remaining scheduled flights or a full refund for their tickets. Lufthansa is also offering passengers on cancelled domestic flights the option of travelling by rail instead. Tickets for this journey can be obtained at Lufthansa self-service check-in kiosks.
