"Memmingen International Airport (FMM) is temporarily suspends its operations from September 17 to 30 due to the start of repair work on the runway. The runway will be widened to 45 meters in accordance with international and European standards," the statement said.
In addition, as noted by the airport press service, the renovation work is planned to be fully completed in 2021.
The airport also reported that Ryanair cancelled all flights to and from Memmingen from September 17 to 30, Wizz Air rerouted flights to other airports, and Russian airline Pobeda, which flies to the airport, temporarily suspended sales of tickets to the city.
