ATOR: Several Dozens of Russian Tourists May Be in Iran

There may be several dozen Russian tourists in Iran at the moment, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia reported.

“During the holiday period, their number [of Russian tourists] could reach a hundred people at most, but the overwhelming majority Most of them have already returned to Russia. Thus, at the moment, there may be no more than three or four dozen tourists from the Russian Federation on the territory of Iran as a possible maximum, but most likely less than this number,” ATOR noted.

Let us recall that on the morning of January 8, a Boeing 737 of Ukraine International Airlines crashed two minutes after takeoff from Tehran. The victims of the air disaster were 167 people and 9 crew members. Against this background, a number of major carriers, including Russian ones, suspended flights over Iran.
