Study: The most expensive tickets for New Year's holidays

Travel service specialists Tutu.ru analyzed bookings for the New Year holidays (from December 25 to January 8) and found the most expensive air and train tickets, as well as tours.

Aviation

The top 10 most expensive routes for New Year's dates include: mostly business class tickets. The exception was the Moscow-Singapore flight, for which three travelers bought tickets for 370 thousand rubles (three economy class round-trip tickets). Only international flights made it into the rating.

Tickets from Moscow to Cape Town (South Africa) cost tourists the most. One traveler paid almost 250 thousand rubles for a roundtrip flight. Moscow — Geneva is in second place. A passenger paid about 200 thousand rubles for a one-way ticket. Incidentally, the Moscow — Geneva route turned out to be the most popular destination for an expensive vacation. This route appears three times in the top ten most expensive tickets. And the flight from the Russian capital to Geneva takes only three hours.

Most of the travelers who spent several tens of thousands of rubles on a ticket will go on a trip from Moscow. But there are exceptions. Two residents of Khabarovsk will fly to Auckland for 381 thousand rubles one way. Two travelers from St. Petersburg will fly to Rome for 339 thousand rubles (roundtrip tickets).

Tours

Travel packages for the New Year holidays in Thailand (9 nights with breakfast in a three-star hotel) and the Dominican Republic (10 nights in a five-star hotel on an all-inclusive basis) cost tourists around 320 thousand rubles.

In third place in the ranking of the most expensive tours are trips with departure from Novosibirsk to Vietnam (254 thousand for two for 9 nights with breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Railway

The most expensive train ticket was sold to passengers traveling in a luxury class carriage from Kansk to Moscow (30 thousand rubles for a one-way ticket). A traveler from Birobidzhan paid slightly less, 29 thousand rubles, for a ticket to Moscow. In third place was a train ticket from Irkutsk to Moscow (28 thousand rubles in a luxury class carriage).

The top ten includes four routes between Russian cities: Kansk-Moscow (1st place), Birobidzhan-Moscow (2nd place), Irkutsk-Moscow (3rd place) and St. Petersburg-Moscow (10th place). In tenth place is a ticket for the Sapsan. The price is almost identical to a trip in a compartment to Nice.
