From Bangkok to Pattaya on the new train - in $5 and 2.5 hours

State Railways of Thailand offers weekend routes from Bangkok to Pattaya and Sattahip. Starting from March 17, a special train of three air-conditioned carriages will depart from the capital of Thailand to beach resorts on Saturdays and Sundays.

The pilot project is designed for six months, writes “Thailand News”. The cost of a ticket to Pattaya and Sattahip will be 170 baht ($5.5).

The train departs from Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok at 6:45 and arrives in Pattaya at 9:13, and in Sattahip another 35 minutes later at 9:50. The return train to Bangkok from Plutaluang (Sattahip) departs at 15:50, arrives in Pattaya at 16:26 and reaches the capital at 18:25.

The train will be convenient for those visitors to Bangkok who want to spend a day at the resort, but do not want to get behind the wheel.
