Vladivostok resident demanded money from tourists for a photo with an owl

A Vladivostok resident was fined for illegal business, demanding 1,000 rubles from tourists for a photo with an owl.

“In Vladivostok, police officers conducted an investigation into a publication about illegal entrepreneurship. A foreign tourist complained about young people who offer to take a photo with a barn owl for a fee. It was established that a 23-year-old resident of Vladivostok takes pictures of tourists with a wild bird and asks for a fee of 1,000 rubles per photo for his service," the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Primorsky Krai reported.

In addition, the inspector for the implementation of administrative legislation drew up a report for carrying out entrepreneurial activity without registration as an individual entrepreneur.

"The materials collected by the police officers have been sent to the magistrate's court for a decision. Russian legislation provides for liability for illegal entrepreneurship in the form of an administrative fine of up to two thousand rubles," the department added.
