The Russian government has approved a draft agreement on visa-free travel between Russia and Cuba; the maximum period of stay for Russians without a visa in Cuba will be increased to 90 days, the official Internet portal of legal information reported on Thursday, Interfax-Tourism reports.
The agreement, published on the website, notes that citizens of the Russian Federation and Cuba can “enter, exit, transit and stay in the territory of Russia or Cuba without a visa for up to 90 days during each 180-day period, counting from the date of first entry.” Those who intend to stay and reside in the territory of the other party for more than 90 days must obtain a visa in accordance with the legislation of the country of entry.
Cuba and Russia already have an agreement on visa-free exchange of tourists with a stay of up to 30 days. Russians made 75 thousand trips to Cuba in 2017, which is 67% more than the year before.
