The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned tourists about the increase in the number of listeriosis cases in Spain.
"Spain - Increase in Listeriosis cases; the highest number of cases recorded in the Andalusia region," the Situation and Crisis Center (DSCC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports RF on Twitter.
Let us recall that earlier Rospotrebnadzor warned Russian tourists about an outbreak of listeriosis in Spain and recommended taking this into account when planning trips.
Listeriosis is an infectious disease caused by microorganisms of the genus Listeria. Listeria infects the CNS (Central Nervous System) and can cause meningitis and encephalitis. In addition, the disease is characterized by a high fatality rate. Certain groups of people are most susceptible to the disease - pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
