According to the WHO, a new outbreak of the Ebola virus disease has been registered in the Republic of Congo, Rospotrebnadzor reports.
“Over the past five weeks, 21 suspected cases of the viral disease have been detected near the town of Bikoro in Equateur Province. hemorrhagic fever, of which 17 were fatal. At the same time, according to information from the health authorities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the presence of the Ebola virus was confirmed by laboratory methods in two of the five samples,” the department clarified.
Rospotrebnadzor is currently considering the issue of providing assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in eliminating the Ebola outbreak.
Rospotrebnadzor asks to take this information into account when planning trips; the Russian Federation does not have direct air links with the DRC.
