Dubai authorities have allowed transit passengers to leave the airport without a visa, provided that the connection time exceeds four hours, RIA Novosti reports, citing Arabian Business.
Special tours will be organised for passengers wishing to explore the city. The project, called "Dubai in Microcosm," aims to introduce travelers to the city's landmarks and achievements, Dubai Airports Corporation said.
For passengers with a layover of less than four hours, the airport buildings will feature interactive exhibitions and virtual tours of the city.
Dubai International Airport is the world's busiest airport by international passenger numbers, with capacity set to increase from 90 million to 118 million passengers a year by 2023.
