Siberia has introduced discounts on domestic routes

Siberia Airlines (S7 Airlines) has introduced discounted rates for round-trip flights on a number of domestic Russian routes. These prices are a response to a similar promotion by Aeroflot, reports our own correspondent Travel.ru.

Round-trip prices from Moscow are: Yekaterinburg – 4972 rubles without baggage and seat selection (5972 rubles with baggage and selection), Novosibirsk – 7210 (10210), Ufa – 5520 (6520), Volgograd – 4758 (7558), Tyumen – 4966 (7966), Kemerovo – 7000 (10000), Nizhny Novgorod – 4302 (5302), Saratov – 5936 (6936), Vladikavkaz – 5118 (6118), Novy Urengoy – 5946 (8946), Nizhnevartovsk – 8158 (11158) rubles.

Tickets are sold until October 31, flights are possible until March 31. Tickets must be purchased at least 7 days before departure. Ticket returns are permitted only for baggage fares with a fee of 1,500 rubles. Ticket exchange for baggage fares is permitted with payment of the possible price difference, for non-baggage fares - with a fee of 3,000 rubles.

The company has also reduced prices on a number of other routes. For example, a one-way fare from Moscow to St. Petersburg is 2,197 rubles without baggage and seat selection (2,697 with baggage and selection), to Sochi - 2,512 (3,012) rubles, to Rostov-on-Don - 2,525 (3,025), to Omsk - 5,002 (6,502), Irkutsk - 6,593 (8,093) rubles. These fares are also valid for flights until the end of March.

When buying any tickets on the Siberia website (as well as almost all other Russian carriers), you should keep in mind that the airline may include insurance in the ticket by default. This practice, prohibited in the EU countries, can lead to a loss of 269 rubles on each ticket. To avoid becoming a victim of an insurance trick, you need to find the “refuse insurance” field on the additional services selection page (or click on the basket icon next to the insurance item in the right column) during the ticket booking process.

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.

Last week, Siberia Airlines put a new aircraft model into operation – Boeing 737 MAX 8. It became the first Russian airline to receive this type in its fleet. Boeing 737 MAX 8 has an increased flight range, reduced noise and emissions, and a more comfortable cabin.

In particular, all seats have both electrical outlets and USB ports. Additionally, several types of stands for tablets and mobile phones of various sizes are built into the table. For now, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 has been deployed on two routes - from Novosibirsk to Chita, as well as on one of the Novosibirsk-Moscow flights. It is also planned to use this type on routes from Siberia to Southeast Asia.
