The Arctic plans to open visa centers to reduce tour costs

At the international tourism forum "Accessible Arctic" in Vorkuta, the idea of opening a visa center in the Arctic was voiced in order to develop tourism and reduce prices for tours. At the moment, tourists are more attracted to exploring the north in Norway and Greenland, since There are more reasonable and affordable prices there.

Experts believe that such centers are very important, since today an insufficiently well-established comfort system is a lesser evil than administrative prohibitions, Nevskie Novosti reports.

They also believe that the development of tourism in the Arctic is a priority in the field of foreign tourism. In their opinion, Russian tourists are more attracted to beach resorts, where it is warm, and frost and snow are not surprising. But for foreign tourists from warm countries, snow is exotic, so they show great interest in exploring the north.

There are regulatory prohibitions in place in Komi, and this deprives the region of income from visiting foreign tourists who are willing to pay money for ice, bears, snow, etc.

You can get to Vorkuta via Komi or Salekhard. In addition, tourists spend a lot of money on obtaining visa documents, going through security checks, tickets and buying tours. Therefore, experts believe that the Arctic is being developed via Norway.

Thus, tourism in the Arctic should become a transit route from Europe to Russia, and become more attractive thanks to the opening of visa centers in the Russian North.
