Excellent fishing opportunities attract many tourists to Finland. However, from the beginning of this year they will have to pay more for the pleasure of fishing.
As Fontanka reports.fi, the cost of a Finnish fishing license for a year has increased from 39 to 45 euros, for a week – from 12 to 15 euros, and for a day – from 5 to 6 euros.
Most often, Russians choose the Mikkeli region and the picturesque Lake Saimaa located there for fishing in the neighboring country. In Finland, you can fish without paying a fee only with the simplest rod with natural bait - without a spoon and reel. With more complex gear, you must have a permit. Free fishing is also possible if the fisherman is under 18 or over 64 years old.
Not only fishery inspectors, but also local residents can check whether a tourist has a fishing license. In case of refusal to show the document, they can call representatives of the competent authorities to the fishing spot.
