According to a study conducted by the analytical center NAFI, every third Russian plans to travel abroad in the coming year, and every second person in Russia. People are ready to pay about 60 thousand rubles per person for a vacation abroad, and about 40 thousand.
A third of Russians are considering the possibility of going on holiday abroad in the coming year (33%). Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (52% versus 24% among rural residents) and young people aged 18–34 (44–46% versus 15–35% in other age groups) report their intention to travel abroad more often than others. The average amount that people are willing to pay for a vacation outside of Russia (including transportation, accommodation, etc.) is 61,130 rubles. Every tenth survey participant considers spending no more than 40,000 rubles per person.
More than half of Russians (58%) intend to spend their holidays in Russia, and residents of cities with a population of over a million most often express this desire (65%). The average amount of expected expenses on domestic tourism, including accommodation, travel, etc., is 40,490 rubles per person. More than a quarter (28%) of Russians expect to spend no more than 40 thousand rubles on trips around Russia.
