In early December, double-decker Aeroexpress trains will be launched to Sheremetyevo Airport. The trains will run along the Sheremetyevo-Belorussky Railway Station route. This was reported by Mikhail Kovalsky, Deputy General Director of Aeroexpress.
“At the end of November and beginning of December this year, it is expected that 39 pairs of double-decker trains will travel in one direction and the other from Sheremetyevo Airport to Belorussky Station,” he said, Interfax reports.
In addition, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Oleg Toni has previously noted that the company is looking for technical solutions to launch double-decker trains from Belorussky Station.
"At the moment, I cannot say that such a possibility exists and that it complies with the standards. But this option is being worked out by design institutes, we are looking for a solution. On the one hand, we have an architectural monument - the Tverskoy overpass, and on the other - the metro, there is nowhere to go deeper. We need to find a technical solution that will not lead to a loss of safety," he said.
