Several companies have begun developing a new Russian service for online hotel booking. This was announced by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko.
“Of course, we need our own all-Russian booking resource, so that protect yourself for the future. In addition, this is a good opportunity for domestic business. As far as I know, such an Internet platform is already being created, possibly with international options," he said, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, Mr. Volchenko noted that work on the project is underway at the federal level.
Let us recall that in July of this year it became known that the airline and hotel booking services Momondo and Kayak stopped displaying hotels located in Crimea. Later, Trivago joined them
It is also worth noting that last summer the opportunity to book a hotel in Crimea disappeared on the Booking.com website. A little later, the company explained that it is still possible to book accommodation using the service - to do this, you need to indicate "work" as the purpose of the trip.
As the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic emphasized, the departure of foreign booking companies from Crimea remains largely unnoticed by tourists. "All this has not affected the quality of recreation and the hospitality industry in any way," he explained.
However, it is worth noting that at the moment in Russia there are already domestic online hotel booking services, including Ostrovok.ru, Hotels.ru, founded in 2010, and others.
