Egypt's resorts are waiting for the World Cup to end

Discussions on opening charter flights to Egyptian resorts will begin after the end of the World Cup. This statement was made by the head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, Yevgeny Ditrikh. This is reported by Interfax.

According to the head of the department, representatives of the Egyptian aviation authorities visited Russia. The Minister and foreign guests raised the issue of resuming charter flights to the resorts of the Arab state. However, it was decided to hold specific events related to the opening of flights after the end of the World Cup. Thus, the continuation of negotiations on charters to Egypt will begin after July 15.

It was previously reported that charter flights to Egyptian resorts would be resumed in 2018.
Let us recall that on April 11, after two years, air traffic between Moscow and Cairo was opened. Flights are operated by two companies: Aeroflot and Egypt Air. For the duration of the World Cup, the Egyptian airline received permission to operate charter flights from Cairo to St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Volgograd. According to experts, the restoration of mass tourist flow to Egypt is possible only after the opening of direct flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, since flights via Cairo are inconvenient and expensive for most tourists.
