Russians traveling in transit through China will be able to stay in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province for six days without a visa, TASS reports.
China has increased the period of stay in the country without a visa for transit travel from 72 to 144 hours for 53 countries, including Russia. The innovation concerns passengers traveling through Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province. Last year, a 6-day visa-free regime began to operate in Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
When transiting through the Chinese border, you must present a valid passport and a ticket for the next flight. According to local authorities, the measures introduced will help develop civil aviation and tourism in Tianjin and Hebei, and foreign citizens will be able to stay in the country longer without wasting money and time on obtaining a visa.
China is not the only country that allows Russians to stay in the country for a short period of time on the condition of transit. For example, when transiting through Singapore, Russian tourists can stay in the country for up to 96 days. In addition, if they have visas from neighboring countries, our citizens can be in transit in Bulgaria, Cameroon and up to 5 days in Romania.
