Macedonia has extended the visa-free regime for Russians for a year. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Embassy.
Russians will be able to visit the Republic of Macedonia without a visa until March 15, 2019. This decision was unilaterally made by the country's government. Thus, our Tourists visiting Macedonia only need a valid passport and insurance. This procedure only applies to trips lasting up to 90 days within every six months, counting from the date of first entry.
Macedonia is located on the Balkan Peninsula, in southeastern Europe. The most favorable months for visiting the country are traditionally considered to be May, June and September. Tourists come here to go hiking and mountain tourism, fishing and rafting, as well as to relax on Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid. Popular attractions include the Iviron Monastery and the Monastery of Simon Petra, the old Ottoman bazaar in Skopje, the Galicica National Park, Samuel's Fortress, the Vardar River in Gostivar and numerous picturesque villages. Macedonia's resorts include Ohrid, Struga, Popova Shapka, Ponikva, Lagadin, Kezovitsa and Banja Bansko.
We will add that there are currently no direct flights from Moscow to Macedonian cities. The cost of a flight from Moscow to Skopje with transfers during the May holidays starts from 14,713 rubles roundtrip.
