In the summer of 2019, the Russian airline Azur Air intends to start operating flights from China to Ulyanovsk. This was stated by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The airline is tentatively planning to begin operations regular flights in the summer of 2019. The carrier is currently resolving organizational issues,” he said.
At the same time, the governor noted that the region, in turn, is working on issues of receiving aircraft at the airport, and is negotiating with the largest federal tour operators about including the region in programs for Chinese tourists. According to Morozov, the opening of direct flights between Ulyanovsk and the provinces of China will allow the region to receive about two hundred tourists weekly, that is, 10 thousand people per year.
