Emirates to supply Airbus A380 for second Moscow flight and offer discount on Dubai tickets

Emirates Airlines intends to put its largest aircraft, the Airbus A380, on the second Dubai-Moscow flight in the spring. Thus, this liner will perform two of Emirates' three daily flights on this route, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.

Currently, the Airbus A380 makes only one flight per day – an evening flight from Dubai and a night flight from Moscow. From March 1, it will also be used for the daytime flight. The morning flight, which will first appear on the schedule from October 25, will remain on the less capacious Boeing 777-300 for now.

The winter schedule includes departures from Dubai at 3:05, 9:15 and 16:15, arriving in Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) at 7:25, 13:45 and 20:40 respectively. Return departures are at 10:35, 17:10 and 23:50, arriving in Dubai at 16:50, 23:25 and 6:15. The first of these flights is operated by Boeing 777, the second by Boeing 777 until February 28 and by Airbus A380 from March 1, the third always by Airbus A380.

Let us recall that Emirates also sells tickets for two daily flydubai flights on the same route, which, however, are operated to other Moscow airports. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 will be used on the flight to Vnukovo from January; it has been flying on the route to Sheremetyevo since last year.

In 2014, Emirates had already planned to fly to Moscow twice a day on the Airbus A380, but these plans could not be implemented due to the economic crisis in Russia, which led to a decrease in demand for tourist flights. The increase in demand in the last year and a half was facilitated by the abolition of preliminary visas for Russian citizens traveling to the UAE. Last winter, Emirates still managed to put the Airbus A380 on two flights, but this option lasted for just under four months - from October 1, 2017 to January 22 of this year, then the Boeing 777 was returned to the daytime flight.

Emirates currently has a discounted fare for flights from Moscow to Dubai – 19,423 rubles roundtrip. Tickets are on sale until October 25, with flights possible until April 15, and tickets must be purchased at least 60 days before departure. The minimum stay in Dubai is 5 days or until the next Sunday, with flights from Moscow on Friday or Saturday (and returns on Saturday or Sunday) costing more. Ticket returns are not permitted, but can be exchanged for a 200 euro fee and an additional payment up to the fare in effect at the time of exchange. Aeroflot currently has a similar and cheaper offer on this route – from 14,135 rubles roundtrip.
